John Gottman, PhD., a pioneer in the study of marriage and founder of the Gottman Institute, reports that thriving couples make time to support each other in the bad times but also in the good times and that successful relationships experience five positive interactions for every negative one. How does your relationship measure up?

A workshop for couples
John Gottman, PhD., a pioneer in the study of marriage and founder of the Gottman Institute, can predict divorce with 96% accuracy simply by listening to couples argue for three minutes or less. In this workshop you will learn how the masters of relationships utilize specific communication skills to break through stalemates and solve problems as a team, rather than having problems divide them like adversaries.

You will practice three tools that, when used in daily life, will bring greater understanding, closeness, connection and emotional intimacy. These same skills can be used to enhance physical intimacy as well. You will engage in fun exercises that may teach you things you didn’t already know about your partner.

Do you have the same argument over and over? Do you avoid bringing up certain subjects because there is no productive way to talk about them? Do you want to trust and be trusted, know and be known on a deeper level? This workshop can point you in the right direction.


Stress Management: Making Space for Joy
This workshop will help you identify the boundary between high-stress and burnout with the goal of creating an environment of peace and calm. It will help you examine and find ways of reducing stress that are in your control, even when the sources of your stress are out of your control, helping you stay grounded regardless of what is going on around you. The relationship between joy and stress will be examined, and joy will be offered as a lens through which you view your approach to stress management.
